Light aircraft makes emergency landing on highway in Gauteng

A light aircraft made an emergency landing on the N1 highway near Hammanskraal, north of Pretoria, early on Tuesday.

Motorists shared photographs of the white aircraft, parked on the grass in the centre median.

Police were at the scene of the incident and closed off one lane.

It was not immediately clear how many occupants were on board or whether there were any injuries.
