Police on Monday night said a bomb scare in Bedfordview, Germiston, was a hoax.

Earlier, police said they were aware of an incident at the Alpha Study Centre.

Police spokesperson Captain Andre de Jager told TimesLIVE that the complainant at the study centre claimed he had received two phone calls saying that there was a bomb on the premises.

Officers responded to the scene, with the K9 Unit searching the area. The bomb disposal unit also conducted a search.

They found no trace of any explosives.
