More than 17 people were injured after a taxi collided with a van outside Durban on Tuesday.
Traffic on Richmond Road, near Pinetown, came to a standstill following the accident.
Rescue Care spokesperson Garrith Jamieson said multiple ambulances had been deployed to the scene to administer treatment to the injured.
The injured were taken to hospital for treatment.
"SAPS are in attendance and investigations are underway," he said
