Allandale substation fire causes more power outages for Joburg residents
An Eskom substation in Allandale, near Tembisa in Ekurhuleni, caught fire on Wednesday.
Eskom said it had dispatched technicians to the substation to assess the situation.
Both City Power and @Eskom_SA technicians are on site to determime the cause of the fire. Emergency services are also putting out the fire to allow investigators to come in.

The parastatal’s spokesperson Khulu Phasiwe said the cause of the fire was not known.
Numerous areas were left without electricity as a result of the blaze. “The areas affected by the power outage include Ivory Park and parts of Tembisa," he said.
"Eskom apologises for the inconvenience."
