Thanks to Eskom, the day-to-day running of SA been hugely disrupted. Households have been plunged into darkness and there's chaos on the streets as we struggle with stage 4 load-shedding on a daily basis, causing mass anger and frustration.

While South Africans spend nights in darkness, the internet has provided us with some light relief, including songs that match our "dark" mood.

So, here are five songs that you should add to your playlist when you feel your blood pressure rise.

Simon & Garfunkel - Hello darkness my old friend

Coming in at number one whenever Mzansi's lights go out, is this classic. Because yes, in the dark, "silence like a cancer grows". Will we bow to neon light? Nah!

"Hello darkness my friend, I've come to talk to you again because a vision softly creeping left its seeds while I was sleeping, and the vision that was planted in my brain still remains within the sound of silence."

Adele - Love in the dark

Many on social media have joked about babies being born nine months from now. Warning: Check out new parents' tweets about what it's like to have an infant in load-shedding.

Black Coffee - Afraid of the dark

Need some motivation? Well, there's always this Black Coffee track. It may inspire some hope with lines like "I love how you shine, promise you'll always be mine, cos I'm afraid of the dark".

Avicii - Fade into  darkness

You're having a braai and load-shedding hits. Planned or not (because the schedules aren't always on point), a sprinkle of Avicii may be just what you need.

Bruce Springsteen - Dancing in the dark

It's a classic. Just like darkness, this is a song we've heard before. Make sure your phone is charged so you can play it on repeat.
