Andile Ramaphosa, who is a businessman and son of president Cyril Ramaphosa, has been thrust into the spotlight following Peet Venter's testimony before the state capture commission.

Venter, Bosasa's former auditor, dropped a bombshell on Tuesday when he stated before the commission that he had deposited R500,000 into Andile Ramaphosa's foundation trust at the instruction of Bosasa CEO Gavin Watson.

Venter further stated that this payment was done when Cyril Ramaphosa was deputy president.

Less than 24 hours later, News 24 revealed that Andile Ramaphosa had in fact admitted to having benefited from Bosasa, in a business deal that paid him R2m. In a written response to the news outlet, Ramaphosa jr. said he "deeply regrets" his actions.

"It was a severe oversight on our part. It is clear now with the benefit of hindsight that our due diligence was insufficient in retrospect of my father's role going into the presidency."

President Cyril Ramaphosa has been dragged into the matter with the public questioning whether or not he can be trusted, and if he knew about his son's dealings with the controversial company.

Ramaphosa jr.'s admission has prompted major reaction from the public. Taking to Twitter, people are weighing in on the matter.

Some asked when Ramaphosa will hand himself over to the police while others said they are not buying Andile's apology, as they believe he knew what he was getting into.

Here are some of the reactions:
