A 12-year-old boy was beaten to death - allegedly by two of his schoolmates - at the Grace and Hope Special School in Seshego at the weekend, Limpopo police said on Monday.

Col Moatshe Ngoepe said the incident happened on Saturday. "It is reported that they were involved in a fight and one boy was killed," he said.

The boy's body was found in the school hostel.

"Two boys, aged 14 and 16, have been arrested," said Ngoepe. He could not immediately give details on what led to the fight.

The pair is due to appear in the Seshego Magistrate's Court on Monday.
