A 23-year-old bus driver was shot and killed in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal on Monday evening, paramedics said.
Netcare911 spokesperson Shawn Herbst said the shooting happened at 7:42pm on Jackscastle Avenue in Castle Hill, Newlands West.
Herbst said the driver was ambushed while travelling down the road.
The man, who was alone in the bus at the time, was shot in the chest and declared dead on the scene.
Police spokesperson Captain Nqobile Gwala said the man sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body. A murder case has been opened.
No arrests have been made.
