Paramedics have responded to a boat capsizing off Ispingo Beach, south of Durban.
Rescue Care's Garrith Jamieson said the boat, with two occupants, overturned on Monday morning.
"Paramedics treated an elderly male, who sustained moderate injuries, on the beach. He will be stabilised and taken to hospital."
Jamieson said the circumstances surrounding the incident would be investigated.
