A skydiver was injured during his first solo jump on Sunday.

Netcare 911 spokesperson Shawn Herbst said the 40-year-old skydiver injured his ankle during a hard landing on a farm between Deneysville and Refengkgotso, in the Free State.

He was transported to hospital in a stable condition.
