The childhoods of convicted Krugersdorp killers Cecilia Steyn, Zak Valentine and Marcel Steyn came under the spotlight during sentencing proceedings in court on Monday.

The court heard that Marcel had been “ruined by her mother”, while mastermind Cecilia has found love in jail and Valentine was described as a quiet and reserved person who excelled academically at school.
