Eastern Cape police have seized several dangerous weapons and dagga from schools this week.

Captain Ursula Roelofse said search operations were carried out at Elliot High School and Masikhuthale Public School on Wednesday.

During the searches, weapons, including knives, and dagga were confiscated.

Headmasters were advised to ensure that their schools' safety projects improved, she said.
