When Sasha runs he is so fast and his stride so graceful that the human eye cannot spot that he is missing his back left leg.

The male cheetah, like all the big cats at this Free State sanctuary, didn’t have the best start in life. But they’ve all been given a second chance – this time with no petting or unnecessary human contact.
