Hundreds of bidders at an auction of assets belonging to the late Gavin Watson’s African Global Operations (formerly Bosasa) left empty-handed, saying the media hype around the event had pushed prices up.

More than 140 vehicles were auctioned (including Watson’s blue 2016 BMW X5), but there was much grumbling among those with cash to spend.
