Woman dies in brutal stabbing in Durban

A 33-year-old woman was fatally stabbed on Wood Road in Montclair, south of Durban, on Tuesday.

Rescue Care's Garrith Jamieson said the victim sustained multiple stab wounds on the upper half of her body.

The woman was rushed to hospital, where she later died.

Police spokesperson Captain Nqobile Gwala said a 40-year-old man was arrested at the scene in connection with the stabbing.

"A case of murder is being investigated by Montclair SAPS. It is alleged that today [Tuesday] at 12.30pm, a 33-year-old woman was fatally stabbed by a known suspect while at Wood Road in Montclair. A 40-year-old suspect was arrested at the scene. He will appear in court soon," said Gwala.
