I only had vetkoek, your honour! Man gets R130k for bungled drug bust

A police bungle that saw a man held for four days – for possession of half a mandrax pill – will cost the taxpayer R130,000 in compensation for his “unlawful” detention.

His lawyers said the police had no cause to arrest the teen who had merely gone into the drug den to buy vetkoek.
