A senior school governing body member at a top government high school in Johannesburg has stoked racial tensions after claiming white pupils and staff are being overlooked because of their race.

In his resignation letter, the Jeppe High School for Boys SGB member says the school’s 130-year legacy is being tainted by racial politics.
