A mass shooting at a tavern in Bekkersdal on the West Rand has resulted in the deaths of nine people. Several others were injured.
Police spokesperson, Brig Athlenda Mathe, said the shooting occurred at KwaNoxolo Tavern in the Tambo section of Bekkersdal.
She said some victims were randomly shot in the street by unknown gunmen.
