Alex Soleil van Heerden, 26, has been found a day after after she was allegedly abducted on arrival at her apartment complex in Northcliff, Johannesburg, on Wednesday night.
The lawyer was found in Vosloorus on Thursday, anti-crime activist Yusuf Abramjee said.
According to information shared by eBlockWatch founder Andre Snyman and private investigator Mike Bolhuis, she had taken an e-hailing ride home from a Rosebank restaurant.
When she exited the vehicle at the entrance to her complex just before 7pm on Wednesday, two armed suspects who had apparently been waiting nearby confronted her, forced her into another vehicle and fled the scene. The Uber driver was robbed during the incident, with his cellphone reportedly stolen. He reported the incident to police.
Snyman said witnesses have indicated more than one vehicle may have been involved and at least one suspect vehicle was positioned in the area before the abduction occurred.
Bolhius said at least three men are suspects.
Video footage shows Van Heerden being forced into a white Renault hatchback as she exited the Uber.
The investigation is ongoing.
