WATCH | Starbucks denies black man bathroom use - after giving white man access

In the wake of outrage over the arrest of two black men in a Starbucks in Philadelphia, another video has surfaced that once again has the chain's 'discriminatory practices' in the spotlight.

Last week two men were handcuffed and arrested after a store manager called the police and reported them for refusing to leave. In a video that quickly went viral, some patrons asked police whether they were targeted because they are black. Witnesses said the men were calmly sitting in the cafe waiting for a friend.

Police released the men, who were not charged and Starbucks apologised for the incident. The store was closed amid protests on Monday, and the company said the store manager no longer works there.

A few days after the arrests another video surfaced at a South California branch.

In the video that was taken in January but only put on Facebook on the weekend, Brandon Ward is seen asking a white man exiting the bathroom how to get into the store's bathroom. The man explained the employees gave him the code for the bathroom— before he purchased a drink.

When he tried to do the same thing, the employees refused to give him the code. Ward then confronts the store manager, demanding to know if it was because of his skin colour. With a security guard visibly approaching, the video cuts off.

According to local news station KTLA, Torrance police confirmed officers were called to the location but no arrests were made.
