A white man was caught on video making racist comments to a pair of black women on a New York train last week.

In the video posted to Facebook, the man became infuriated with the woman sitting behind him who was speaking on her phone. He began mumbling angrily in his seat before turning around and calling her a "loud mouth b***h".

When another young black woman on the train began defending her, he turned his anger on her, shouting "you're a f***king loudmouth monkey mother-f***ker".

The incident, caught on camera by a fellow commuter, took place on the Long Island Rail Road train from Penn Station to Long Beach on April 19.

As the altercation escalates, he shouts, "I can't listen to your f***king black a** no more".

"First it's this f***king idiot, now it's this f***king idiot," he adds as the woman continues to argue with him. In the video she had be heard telling him to "shut up", while another person yells, "That's enough".

Soraya Orelien, 25, told the New York Post she was heading home after a long day at her Manhattan college when the incident happened.

“I was put in a position where I didn’t know what to do but stand up for myself and not allow this man to belittle me in front of people,” she said.

The video reportedly only caught a portion of the incident. The man also mimed monkey movements and allegedly threatened to *smack the s**t" out of Orelien.

Metropolitan Transportation Authority officials condemned the man’s behavior and said they are investigating.
