March 8 marks International Women's Day, when the world celebrates the successes and triumphs of women, and highlights gender inequality and abuse.

This year's theme is #BalanceForBetter, which encourages the need for a gender-balanced society. As part of the campaign, social media users are urged to post a picture of themselves with their hands in a balance pose under #IWD2019.

Twitter has been flooded with messages of empowerment, celebration and awareness as #InternationalWomen'sDay and #IWD2019 trend.
