Former ANC Youth League presidents and former mates who are now at opposite sides of the political fence, Fikile Mbalula and Julius Malema, have got involved in a twitter war that is setting the social media site alight.

Minister of Sport Fikile Mbalula called out EFF commander in chief Julius Malema on his hypocrisy for wearing a red overall in parliament whilst wearing Louis Vuitton outside of parliament.

He tweeted @NzingaQ saying: "Overalls were swapped for LV today that's the point. No defiance in court, No red overalls in court. That is Julius revolution".

He also tweeted about Malema: "He was in Court Today for Limpopo Corruption, has he asked himself to PAY BACK THE LIMPOPO MONEY or he displayed hypocrisy?"

He then tweeted: "EFF has done everything they said they won't do when they get to Parliament, they were the first on Parliament buffet nmzima19".

Julius Malema first side-stepped the accusation that he’s a hypocrite by tweeting: "MbalulaFikile NzingaQ as if u don't wear LV. If wearing LV belt makes people not to be revolutionary then u too are no revolutionary".

He then tweeted: "MbalulaFikile if there's any money to be payed by me on any account, you will have to contribute" (sic).

Malema also challenged Mbalula by asking who paid for his 40th birthday party.

The banter took on a less serious mood later on in the exchange with Mbalula tweeting: "And hey Karate Kid, don't forget I'm a Mr Miyagi to you Julius_S_Malema. Phola".

ANC spokesperson Zizi Kodwa jumped into the debate, tweeting: "For the record, the ANC doesn't have offshore account".
