Six wards up for grabs in by-elections following deaths of councillors

Municipal ward by-elections take place in six provinces on Wednesday‚ the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) said on Tuesday. Six of the 10 wards up for grabs are vacant because of the death of the incumbents‚ while the other four by-elections follow the resignations of councillors‚ the IEC saidThe by-elections will be contested by 22 candidates – representing seven parties and two independent hopefuls - in 10 wards.
