An opposition motion of no confidence in President Jacob Zuma will be debated in the National Assembly on February 24.

Agang tabled a motion of no confidence in Zuma on November 4 in the National Assembly.

"When I tabled the motion of no confidence I asked the Speaker that she not preside over the motion of no confidence and that she ensure the voting on the motion be done by way of secret ballot. She refused, confirming that she is not impartial when she acts in her capacity as Speaker," said Tlouamma.

It was important that members of Parliament be able to vote without fear of persecution, he said.

The motion was placed on the schedule of the National Assembly at a programming committee meeting on Thursday morning.
