EFF commander-in-chief Julius Malema has proclaimed that South African Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa is not in fact black.

Speaking at the EFF's Steve Biko Rally in King Williams Town, Malema said, "There is no difference between Botha, Verwoed, and Cyril Ramaphosa because Ramaphosa is not black, he is non-white."

During the rally, Malema compared the Marikana massacre, which claimed the lives of 34 miners, to the Bisho massacre under the Ciskei government which claimed the lives of 28 ANC supporters and one soldier.

While the EFF have repeatedly stated that they hold the Deputy President responsible for playing a part in the Marikana massacre, going so far as to lay charges against him in July, Ramaphosa was cleared of responsibility by the Farlam Report earlier this year.

During the rally Malema further criticised Ramaphosa's choice of plane for his trip to Japan.

Ramaphosa had claimed that he didn't know the plane he used to fly to Japan belonged to the Gupta family - who are in business with President Jacob Zuma's son Duduzani.
