Democratic Alliance calls off planned SONA protest

Cape Town's day of marches began on a downbeat note when the first of three demonstrations linked to tonight's State of the Nation address was called off.The marches were due to start at 9am on Thursday with a Democratic Alliance gathering in the Cape Town CBD. But DA spokesperson Phumzile van Damme confirmed the cancellation on Twitter.
