ANC backs Zuma as vote of no confidence fails

Jacob Zuma's presidency survived a heated attack in parliament Tuesday as he faced a no-confidence motion for the second time in less than a year. The motion was defeated 225 to 99, despite the opposition's passionate calls for the ruling party to turn on the president.The outpouring of criticism came on the same day that his lawyers fought a high court battle to prevent the reinstatement of corruption charges against him.
