The controversies surrounding President Jacob Zuma – including the alleged “state capture” by the Gupta family – appeared to matter little as he walked into the Moses Mabhida Stadium to thunderous applause. More than 30000 people had filled the stadium bowl shortly after midday on Monday‚ waiting for Zuma to deliver the main address at the Human Rights Day rally.
