ANC in Gauteng to 'publicise judgments of disciplinary committee'

The African National Congress (ANC) in Gauteng on Monday took the unusual step of calling a media briefing to announce the results of disciplinary hearings.In a statement issued of behalf of the provincial head of its disciplinary committee‚ Mondli Gungubele‚ it said it would “publicise the judgments of some members of the ANC who have been referred to the provincial disciplinary committee”.No information was given on who the members are‚ but a branch in the province‚ the Sefako Makgatho office in Greater Johannesburg‚ last week broke ranks and called for party leader Jacob Zuma to be removed from office or face disciplinary action.It made this demand in a letter to the ANC's national secretary-general Gwede Mantashe‚ demanding that Zuma should be suspended pending action against him.The branch said it should be done before the local government elections as scandals involving Zuma were doing the party harm...
