Limpopo premier urges young people to grab available business opportunities

Hundreds of young people gathered at Riba Cross Village near Burgersfort in Limpopo to commemorate Youth Day on Thursday. Addressing community members Premier Stan Mathabatha urged young people to grab available business opportunities and help end poverty in their communities.Earlier people engaged in a walk to commemorate the 1976 student uprisings against being taught in Afrikaans.Mathabatha said agencies such as the Limpopo Economic Development Agency had budgets available to offer grants for young people to open businesses."Come up with big dreams‚ write them down and bring them to government through these agencies. You will help end starvation‚" he said.The day was also celebrated with musical performances while many people came dressed in school uniform.Mathabatha also recalled important historical events such as the establishment of the South African Youth Congress which contributed in the liberation of the country.He said it was now up to the youth of today to make a difference."Do not sit at home.
