ANC wins vote for Speaker of Ekurhuleni

The African National Congress has claimed Ekurhuleni's first victory by retaining the position of Speaker at Tuesday's council meeting.Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality has elected its Speaker as the first part of its election process concluded. On Tuesday Patricia Khumalo from the (ANC) received the most votes after being selected by 117 out of 224 councillors as the speaker of the municipality.
