Johannesburg city centre was tense on Monday morning as Umkhonto we Sizwe veterans formed a security perimeter around the party's Luthuli House headquarters
With veterans forcing reporters and photographers away from the building‚ tensions mounted in preparation of the thousands who are to march under the #OccupyLuthuliHouse.
By early on Monday morning‚ a heavy police presence‚ including presidential protection unit officers‚ had formed security cordons around Luthuli House.
Those marching on Luthuli House are calling for the removal of President Jacob Zuma and the entire ANC national executive committee.
The #OccupyLuthuliHouse gathering is meant to start at Library Gardens but by 8am‚ when the protest was meant to have commenced‚ no one had arrived.
