DA calls for eMalahleni City manager to be fired over R1.5m car

The Democratic Alliance in Mpumalanga has requested that the provincial government suspend eMalahleni municipality’s city manager following his approval of a R1.5-million car for the town’s mayor. The DA’s whip in the Mpumalanga provincial legislature‚ Bosman Grobler‚ submitted to the house on Tuesday that municipal manager Theo van Vuuren be suspended for using savings from the previous year to pay for the new mayor’s expensive car.
