WATCH: Sipho Pityana's harshest criticisms of Jacob Zuma

Sipho Pityana’s remarks against President Jacob Zuma were not sugar coated at the SaveSA event on Wednesday.

Pityana lashed out against Zuma a day before the State of the Nation Address.

The Real Sona was hosted at St George's Cathedral in the Cape Town CBD ahead of the actual Sona in parliament today. It saw members from NGOs speak about what they felt were the real issues facing the country.

Pityana called Zuma a limping president who was not trusted by his own party.

"He is a leader not befitting the honour of presidency. Nepotism, corruption and state capture are the real state of the nation."
