Malema in court as lawyer appears

EFF leader Julius Malema arrived at the Thabamoopo Magistrate's Court in Limpopo on Tuesday ahead of his lawyer Tumi Mokwena's appearance.

Mokwena is facing four charges of attempted murder after he allegedly shot and wounded four workers on the Zebediela Citrus Estate last Thursday.

There was excitement in the public gallery on Tuesday morning as Malema walked in.

Mokwena has represented Malema in previous cases‚ including when he was facing corruption and money laundering charges. Mokwena made his first court appearance last Friday after he was arrested at his Polokwane offices hours after the shooting incident. According to police reports one firearm was seized during the arrest.

The incident was allegedly sparked by salary disagreements between Mokwena and the workers on the citrus farm.
