George Chauke was greeted with applause from the crowd when he drove his ANC-adorned VW Jetta 4 into the parking lot at the overflow venue of Orlando Stadium‚ Soweto‚ where the official funeral is under way for Winnie Madikizela-Mandela.

Chauke is a member of the ANC in the Winnie Madikizela-Mandela branch in Troyeville‚ Johannesburg.

When he heard about the death of Mama Winnie‚ he decorated his car - bonnet‚ side‚ top and rear - with ANC flags and banners. It was his way of celebrating the life of the mother of the nation.

Chauke did the same during the 2010 Soccer World Cup‚ using South Africa flags on that occasion.

"When it is the Soweto derby‚ I decorate my car with Kaizer Chiefs and Pirates colours despite being a Khosi fan‚" he said.

When it comes to Mama Winnie‚ Chauke said "all has been said".

"She is the mother of the nation and will remain such forever‚" he said.
