Julius Malema's birthday celebrations in eight pictures
While Julius Malema topped Twitter trends on Sunday as scores of South Africans took to the platform to wish him well on his 38th birthday, the EFF leader didn’t celebrate with a fancy party.
Instead, Malema put smiles on the faces of children at the Entokozweni Day Care Centre in Orange Farm, Johannesburg, when his party renovated the facility.
The EFF said the creche, which was founded almost three decades ago, had never received any funding from the government, which was why members spent Malema’s birthday ensuring the centre received a much-needed facelift.
The facility, which is run by three women, was repainted, tiled and re-decorated. Scores of children who attend the centre were also there. .

Entokozweni Crèche was founded in 1990 and to this day it has not received any help or support from the state.
