Former president Kgalema Motlanthe does not believe President Cyril Ramaphosa is a messiah who can 'save the party'.

Describing the ANC’s list of potential MPs as weak, and one that does not inspire confidence, Motlanthe says the party is in worse shape than before its elective conference.

“The ANC is not in great shape … I think to strengthen the ANC it needs a surgical overhaul from where it is now. It is worse than it was in 2017.”
