Bafana Bafana go into their final Group C game tonight still with a chance of advancing from the "group of death", provided they beat Ghana.

Here are five things they need to do to keep their tournament ambitions alive:

Score more goals

Only three teams have made more key passes than Bafana in this tournament, but nine have had more shots on goal.

Change attacking personnel

There's no harm in rotating the attacking players. Sibusiso Vilakazi and Thuso Phala have had their turn, and maybe Shakes Mashaba should give Bernard Parker and Mandla Masango a run against Ghana.

Protect a lead

It's not just Bafana who are struggling, if the number of 1-1 draws is anything to go by.

South Africa went ahead against Algeria, only to suffer a 3-1 defeat. They again took the lead when they faced Senegal and fell asleep at the wheel to allow them to equalise.

Don't play the opposition's game

Because of the physicality of the opposition, Bafana have tried to retaliate. However, they've had no favours from the referees and have subsequently been punished for fouls committed.

Given their physique, it should be the other way around. But against Ghana, Mashaba's men are likely to be less aggressive and more direct.

Come up with a game plan against key opponents

We've not seen much of Andre Ayew so far, but when he's given room to roam, he's deadly.

Asamoah Gyan, on the other hand, proved once again last week that he just needs half a chance to bury the opposition. Both are key men and Bafana's back four have to be on high alert.
