The South African National Off Road Car Racing Association on Monday announced the death of a young rider‚ Ghislain van der Merwe‚ who sustained severe head injuries in an accident at the weekend."It is with great sadness that SANORA confirm the death of young Ghislain van der Merwe who sustained severe head injuries on the SACC Vryburg Race on Saturday‚ 2 April‚" the association's CEO Siegfried Rousseau said in a statement.
