Former Arsenal midfielder Freddie Ljungberg has signed with Japanese club Shimizu S-Pulse.

The club announced the signing on Tuesday, but did not disclose financial details.

The 34-year-old Swede has already practiced with the Japanese team and could make his first appearance as soon as Saturday when Shimizu faces Jubilo Iwata at home.

Ljungberg has been capped 75 times and scored 14 goals for Sweden. He played for Arsenal from 1998 to 2007 and had a brief stint with Celtic last season after leaving the MLS.
