Manchester City have finally completed the transfer of striker Wilfried Bony from Swansea for a reported fee of £28 million.

The clubs confirmed the transfer of the 26-year-old Ivory Coast striker on their official websites, swanseacity.net and mcfc.co.uk on Wednesday afternoon. He has penned a four-and-a-half-year contract.

Bony had earlier been pictured holding a Manchester City shirt at the Ivory Coast's pre-African Nations Cup camp in Abu Dhabi, from where his international federation had revealed on Wednesday morning via a Twitter account that he had signed for the Premier League champions.

Bony said: “I think it’s a great decision for me - Manchester City is in the Champions League.  You remember at the end of last season I said that if I want to move it will be to a team in the competition because it’s a great tournament that I really want to play in and one that I want to win.”
