There was pandemonium at the end of Mamelodi Sundowns’ 2-1 defeat against Golden Arrows Saturday, as coach Pitso Mosimane had to be escorted by heavily armed police from angry fans baying for his blood.

The loss at the Chatsworth Stadium in Durban was the club’s second in succession after a 1-0 defeat away at Black Aces on August 25.

Following the defeat against Arrows, the annoyed fans were waiting for Mosimane and his players near their team bus baying for the blood of the former Bafana Bafana coach, Daily Sun reported on Monday. The loss left the title-chasing Brazilians struggling in 9th position on the log on four points from as many matches.

According to the report, some fans demanded that Pitso must leave his post with immediate effect while others urged the players to keep fighting.

Despite the “Pitso, please leave us now” chants from angry Downs’ fans, Mosimane still managed to acknowledge those sending positive messages on his way to the bus as heavily armed police and the club security shielded him from the mob.
