Former Kaizer Chiefs star Jabu Mahlangu has come out guns blazing in defence of his friend Steve Lekoelea, who was last week arrested after he was found driving a suspected stole car in the west of Johannesburg.

“People stop talking Nonsense about Others and show us your Achievements. Im talking about Steve Lekolea news that he's been arrested yesterday I saw some of the people comments on kick off that's not cool at all," Mahlangu posted on his Instagram account.

“Some people did the same to me and look me now I've manage to change my life, that should be a lesson to everyone NOT TO JUDGE OTHERS #getalife”.

Lekoelea was arrested in Orange Farm and charged with fraud and possession of a suspected stolen white hatchback VW Polo, The Star reported on Wednesday.

The news of the arrest of the former Orlando Pirates’ fan favourite sparked a wave of controversy on social media, with most of the reactions from fans in comments sections of various media outlets not having kind words Lekoelea.

The fans’ comments on Lekoelea’s arrest, most of them negative, prompted his friend Mahlangu to take to his Instagram account in support of the former Bafana Bafana star.
