Former Orlando Pirates striker Kermit Erasmus played his first minutes of the new French Ligue 1 season when he came off the bench for Stade Rennes in their 1-0 defeat at Nice. Erasmus was used sparingly in his first six months in France following a January move from The Buccaneers‚ with the intention always that this would be his breakthrough season at the club.
