“We won our last match and that has brought in an element of belief in the team. We are getting there. Being consistent is key‚” says Komphela. Having finally notched their first win of the season in midweek‚ Kaizer Chiefs coach Steve Komphela is seeking consistency from his side when they meet Maritzburg United in Saturday evening’s Premier Soccer League match at FNB Stadium.Chiefs’ poor start to the season has been of great consternation for their supporters and a source of much mirth for opposition fans. They finally managed a win‚ 1-0 against Highlands Park at Makhulong Stadium‚ on Wednesday night‚ however unconvincingly. This followed a 1-1 draw at home to Platinum Stars and 2-1 away defeat against Bidvest Wits in the league‚ and 1-0 exit from the MTN8 in the quarterfinals against Cape Town City away.Having relieved the pressure of seeking a victory‚ coach Steve Komphela wants his new-look side to begin to establish some dominance and a rhythm.“We won our last match and that has brought in an element of belief in the team. We are getting there. Being consistent is key‚” the coach said. Maritzburg‚ always competitive under Ernst Middendorp‚ have started with narrow results either way in their first three games. A 1-0 away win against Bloemfontein Celtic was followed by a 0-0 draw at home to Mamelodi Sundowns and then a 1-0 defeat at home against SuperSport United.“We need to monitor their attacking patterns‚” Komphela said.“We have‚ however‚ also seen a few elements in their approach that we should be able to explore to our advantage.”The biggest clash of the weekend in the PSL takes place at Bidvest Stadium on Saturday night‚ between title hopefuls Bidvest Wits and Orlando Pirates.Saturday: Platinum Stars v Baroka FC (Royal Bafokeng Stadium‚ 3pm)‚ Polokwane City v Highlands Park (Old Peter Mokaba Stadium‚ 3pm)‚ Kaizer Chiefs v Maritzburg United (FNB Stadium‚ 6pm)‚ SuperSport United v Free State Stars (King Zwelithini Stadium‚ 8.15pm)‚ Bidvest Wits v Orlando Pirates (Bidvest Stadium‚ 8.15pm)Sunday: Bloemfontein Celtic v Lamontville Golden Arrows (Dr Molemela Stadium‚ 3pm).TMG Digital/TMG Sport..
