Moroka Swallows have been granted a temporary reprieve from an application for their liquidation.

During a brief appearance at the Johannesburg High Court on Thursday morning‚ the judge hearing the matter issued a reprieve because the lawyers representing the liquidators did not file their papers properly.

Gauteng MEC for education Panyaza Lesufi‚ who is a staunch Swallows fan and part of a consortium that is trying to save the club‚ said after the court appearance that they remain in discussions with their liquidators to find a solution.

“We have a reprieve because documents were not appropriately filed by the liquidators‚ but we remain in discussions and both legal teams will be meeting as soon as possible to clear the air. At the moment we are not aware of when we will be back in court but our legal team will be working on it‚” said the relieved Lesufi.
