Mercedes-AMG has released teaser images of a new concept AMG GT Track Sport model. The company says the new member of the GT sports cars is not yet complete, but it will be an uncompromising tool designed for peak driving dynamics and performance to set new standards and record times.

Mercedes-AMG confirms the new addition is powered by a V8 engine, but doesn’t share more details such as electric assistance or 4Matic all-wheel drive.

The new model looks more hard-core than the street-biased GT 63 Pro with 450kW and 850Nm on tap and the juggernaut GT 63 S E with a hybrid drivetrain that produces 600kW and 1,420Nm, a scintillatingly powerful drive based on our recent drive of the coupe.

Based on the large swan neck rear wing spoiler with extensive aerodynamic elements, the camouflaged projectile is hard-core and motorsport-inspired, and perhaps aimed at rivals including Porsche's new GT3 RS. Is this a new AMG GT Black Series?

Only time will tell, but the company says the new concept vehicle demonstrates its expertise as a sports car manufacturer and provides a preview of a possible expansion of the GT series with a V8 engine.
