After T-shirt swapping, criss-crossing from stadium to stadium, carefully listening to what political parties had to say in their manifestos, KwaZulu-Natal's rally queen, Thembeka Dliwako, who was dubbed NomaRally, on Wednesday announced that ActionSA had won her vote.

Taking to social media on Wednesday evening after finally making her mark, she said: “It was a hard decision to make, but at end of the day bek'mele ngikhetheActionSA (I had to choose ActionSA).

The student said from Mnambithi TVET college in Ladysmith said she had based her decision on their promises for higher education.

“Since nazih ukuthi (you know) we really struggling with NSFAS from day one, they have been so good to me. Ngaya ngisho Egoli (I even went to Johannesburg) for the first time,” she said.

She added that the love she had received from Zwakele Mncwango, ActionSA's KZN chairperson, had been “amazing”.

She said the public had witnessed how he and other ActionSA members had supported not only her but her family too.

Many had questioned Dliwako's manifesto review strategy, but she had maintained that she “wanted to listen to all the manifestos before making a decision.”

The bubbly student said she was criticised by some students at her college, who are loyal party members, for her different perspective on politics.

Shortly after she became a household name, being photographed in the various party T-shirts and at rallies, ActionSA visited her modest home where besides party T-shirts, they bought groceries for the family.

Dliwako seemed to join ActionSA's campaign trail shortly thereafter and took to her socials in their T-shirts and colours, with a caption saying “no-one could make me not love you”, on one post.

Summing up her journey on Wednesday, she said: “People vote for the party they like. I chose to go with Mncwango and I am happy. I have asked for ActionSA membership,” she added.

Addressing the youth, she said: “So please, you too should vote for change, vote for ActionSA.”
